Marseilles Skatepark

Damn! What else is there really to say apart from Skatepark Marseilles.

I remember first seeing this on a real old Tony Hawk Playstation game years ago, then I finally got to skate it last week!

Left my board in Africa but a kind dude lent me his for a quick skate around after I took some pix of the graffiti in the park.

The Skatepark itself is worth more than just just one quick pic so here are a few toaster stickers that I found nearby to start ya off with.

Toasterama! and now a close up, check those smooth lines just ready to pop you up all steamy crunchy nice.

More pics of the park to come...keep posting toaster!

Stickers for life : Street art for good

Sweet! Life is good when you see these kinds of sticker paste it up, art on the go, for those in the know.

This little gem I found in an alley way just off of Rue Saint Ferreol in Marseilles.

Just round the corner is a corpo extravaganza street, with nary even a tag in sight, bleached walls with only corporate art allowed, everything else scrubbed clean and pristine by the people paid by the powers that be.

Then in the side streets and alley ways the city comes alive again with all sorts of cool stuff rearing it's collective head.

In the funkier alley ways and lanes behind and off the its a drag shopping drag there are even some shops that have adapted street art into themselves, perhaps as a much needed antithesis to all the corpo crap in the sanitised and official part of the the city.

The side streets also have much more interesting shops, although their prices reflect the posh rents they pay.

This is a pic of a shop which uses spray art for its logo. (Just say no kids)

Masked Man of Marseilles : Graffiti France Street Art

I found this beauty just off Avenue Jean Lombard in Marseilles, France.

It's such a killer bit of street art showing what can be done with graffiti that I decided to use it for my title page also!

The piece is fairly old already, it's dated '05, and there were a few other great graphs around the corner from it, but the powers that be, have obviously got a bit wise since then 'cos there is a big slobbering doberman protecting the site now!

Marseilles has got a wide range of styles of graffiti, most of it visual pollution tagging (omer you know who you are ;) but there are some really vibrant marks that take graffiti into art and make the cityscape a better place to see.

Seeing as how this blog starts off in Marseilles, France, here is a little bit of homage to the local football team Olympique Marseilles.

Alles L'OM or Go Olympique Marseilles.

The day that I shot this photo they kicked their big rivals Paris in the derby so plenty fun that night in Marseilles!
